UML Fundamentals (EN)

The Unified Modelling Language (UML) is a general-purpose modelling language that can assist in the analysis, design and development of information systems. It comprises many standardised models, each serving a specific purpose during software development. 

This course focuses on a selection of relevant models, such as the sequence diagram and state machine diagram, which will help you to enrich user stories. By the end of the course, you will know exactly how and when to apply these UML diagrams as an analyst.

Program

  • System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) 

We’ll start with an introduction to the System Development Lifecycle (SDLC). The SDLC serves as the basis on which we map out the various UML diagrams. 

  • UML-diagrams 

We will discuss the diagrams that are useful for analysts. For each diagram, we will cover what it depicts, when to use it, the specific notation, practical exercises, and how the diagram interacts with other UML diagrams.

  1. Use Case Diagram 
  2. Use Case Description 
  3. Activity Diagram 
  4. State Machine Diagram 
  5. Class Diagram 
  6. Sequence Diagram
